# Prices

> How Retina prices every token at snapshot time using CoinGecko for crypto and stablecoins, and GoldApi for physical gold and silver spot prices.

## Crypto

**CoinGecko** is the price source for every crypto token. Prices are fetched live when you create a snapshot, then frozen into the snapshot. The [Dashboard](/pages/dashboard) Watchlist also queries CoinGecko live for its editable token prices.

## Metals

**GoldApi** is the spot price source for physical gold and silver. The Metals card on the Dashboard shows the current spot, applied to the weights you entered during [setup](/getting-started/quickstart).
