# Perps and staking

> How Retina pulls open perp positions, staked HYPE, validator rewards, and spot balances from the Hyperliquid public API, including live funding-rate APYs.

**Hyperliquid** is the data source for perps, staking, and spot positions on Hyperliquid. Retina queries the Hyperliquid public API directly with the wallet address you provided.

Surfaced data:

* **Perps**: open positions with size, entry, mark, P\&L, funding
* **Staking**: staked HYPE, validator, accrued rewards
* **Spot**: token balances on Hyperliquid spot
