# Backup, restore, export, and deletion

> Move Retina history between devices, create offline backups, export tables, and remove saved data.

Retina provides account restore for normal multi-device use and file exports for independent recovery or analysis.

## Restore after signing in

On a browser without an existing Retina portfolio, sign in to the same account. Retina restores the saved portfolio automatically.

If the browser already contains a portfolio that belongs to the account, Retina compares browser and cloud history before continuing.

If the histories differ, Retina asks you to choose. Available actions can include:

* Keep the browser data
* Download a backup first
* Replace the browser with the account's saved data

Retina does not silently overwrite divergent histories.

## Export a full backup

Use the app export menu and choose the full JSON backup. This contains the information needed for a later Retina import.

Store the file somewhere you control. Portfolio backups contain sensitive financial information.

## Other exports

* Export tracked addresses as a text file.
* Export the filtered Positions table as CSV.
* Use JSON when you need restoration.
* Use CSV when you need spreadsheet analysis.

## Import

Choose the import action and select a Retina JSON backup. Review the portfolio before replacing existing browser data.

Import does not make an arbitrary spreadsheet or wallet export compatible with Retina. Use manual positions for unsupported holdings.

## Delete a snapshot

Open snapshot management or the History ledger, then choose **Delete** for the snapshot. A linked cloud portfolio is updated after confirmation.

## Delete your account

Open **My Account**, choose **Delete account**, and complete the confirmation countdown.

This removes the account, saved cloud portfolio, schedules, and notification settings. Browser-only data remains on the current device.

<Warning>
  Clear browser storage only after confirming that the account restore or an exported backup contains the history you want to keep.
